Who we are

AIM was formed by a group of 11 individuals, each with their own careers, responsibilities, and financial realities.

Individually, members manage their finances in different ways — from workplace pensions and property ownership to cash savings, stocks and shares ISAs, and emerging asset classes. For many, participation is limited to traditional structures such as pension pots alone. Several shareholders are self-employed, meaning paid time off, pension provision, and long-term financial planning fall entirely on the individual.

This diversity of circumstances highlighted a shared challenge: managing long-term capital in isolation, without structure or scale.

The company was created by its Founder and Managing Director, Shaun McIntosh, with the aim of supporting a close community of family and friends through a structured, rule-based approach to capital management. AIM was designed to establish clear frameworks for how collective funds are managed, allocated, and, where appropriate, distributed — prioritising transparency, governance, and long-term thinking.

Over the past 15 years, the founder has developed personal experience across a range of investment environments. Early exposure included physical assets such as gold and silver, followed by participation in emerging digital asset markets. These experiences — including both positive outcomes and lessons learned from early exits — helped shape AIM’s emphasis on discipline, patience, and documented decision-making rather than short-term outcomes.

Capital Allocation Philosophy

AIM focuses on:

  • Long-term positioning rather than short-term trading

  • Risk-aware allocation

  • Gradual accumulation where appropriate

  • Preservation of capital alongside growth objectives

Not all capital is expected to be continuously deployed.

Governance & Decision-Making

The company operates under a defined governance structure:

  • A Managing Director oversees day-to-day operations

  • Shareholders retain voting rights on defined matters

  • Formal proposals may be raised, discussed, and voted upon

This structure ensures accountability while maintaining operational efficiency.

Founder’s Note

For me, AIM represents a deliberate shift away from holding digital assets as an individual and towards managing them through a structured company vehicle.

AIM was created to provide a more disciplined and transparent framework for holding and managing digital asset investments, with governance, documentation, and long-term accountability at its core.

The long-term objective is the development of sustainable, passive income through patient, long-hold strategies. In the shorter term, the company may explore asset-backed lending structures designed to responsibly benefit from digital asset appreciation, while maintaining clear risk controls.

Where appropriate, AIM may also operate a dividend and reinvestment framework intended to support individual tax efficiency and enable profits to be reinvested into other businesses or tangible assets, such as property, in line with company policy.

This approach reflects a commitment to structure over speculation, and long-term value creation over short-term outcomes.
